NEW BALANCE X MIU MIU 530 ICONIC SNEAKER

This year, it’s all about unexpected sneaker crossovers—whether paired with ballerina, loafer, or sandal inserts. The latest buzzworthy creation redefining the concept of trainers is the sneaker mule.

This hybrid design stems from a multi-year collaboration between American sportswear giant New Balance and Italian luxury brand Miu Miu. It’s a fresh twist on the New Balance ‘530,’ first reimagined and released in February. Originally a chunky ‘90s dad shoe, the ‘530’ has been slimmed down by Miu Miu into a sleeker, more refined silhouette reminiscent of the Adidas ‘Samba’ or Onitsuka Tiger ‘Mexico 66.’ The transformation features subtle design touches like the Miu Miu logo on the laces and a unique double-lace detail for each shoe. The result is the ‘Miu Miu x New Balance 530 SL,’ with ‘SL’ aptly standing for ‘Super Light.’
